Chef/Owner Daryl DeBeech's food truck concept was born from unique experiences working in the NYC restaurant scene, a passion for amazing food, and a deep sense of pride in his Italian ancestry. His vision has been to bring edgy Italian-American food to the masses — food made with love and passion. Daryl, along with his culinary team, have built upon more traditional Italian recipes inspired by his Sicilian Grandma, "Carmella", and added influences from his various roles within top NYC restaurants such as Bobby Flay's MESA Grill and Pino Luongo's Le Madri.
Carmella offers New-Italian American food that creates a sense of comfort and nostalgia but also explodes with unique flavors. The Chef captures the spirit of Italian cooking combined with the edginess of American food today. The ingredients are sourced from local farms and purveyors in NY-NJ. As much as cooking is the focus, hospitality and service are equally as important. Their home base is in Jersey City, NJ where they also do event planning, catering and restaurant consulting.
